2007 Water & Wastewater Program

The 2007 Water & Wastewater Program provides members with exclusive information tools and access to industry experts to help them enhance their relationships with municipal and industrial water & wastewater treatment facilities. This industry sector accounts for 5% of U.S. electricity use and is expected to grow 20% over the next 15 years. A renewed emphasis has been placed on the importance of developing and maintaining public infrastructure with a sustainable approach. Water and energy interrelate in this role and this Program brings the latest information and technology solutions to its members.

Examples of Program areas include:

  • Water/energy nexus, the interdependencies of water and energy
  • Ultraviolet (UV) water disinfection, which reduces chemical use
  • Membrane technology, an alternative innovative treatment
  • Integrated decentralized water and wastewater management, a new paradigm in the water industry
  • Ozone water treatment, an efficient and powerful alternative to chemicals
  • Energy management best practices, information and tools for you and your customers
  • Beneficial use of digester gas, converting waste methane to energy
